Bio
I have been an artist and musician my entire life. I played my first set of bongos, age 3, while in Los Angeles, California. My first formal exhibit, with awards were at age 14. One was for a sllk screen original and the other, my first acrylic painting entitled 'The New York Jets vs. the Miami Dolphins', was chosen to represent the school, and hung at the Winter Haven Museum of Fine Art.
My first published short story, on human rights, was published at age 16. My studies included printmaking, theatre and prop painting, fine art photography, with a degree in Journalism. Over the course of my life, I been a drummer, a freelance photographer, a journalist, and poet, with poetry published on human rights, and domestic violence. I have been commissioned as a muralist,a portrait artist, a tribute and memorial poet. I also made custom themed hope chests, while I apprenticed at a bronze foundry, where I learned to sculpt, cast and pour bronze. Among the figurative created, was also original black powder cannons! My Rose Cannon is in private collection, purchased at the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts.
I am a strong believer in music and art therapy, as a coping tool and a salvation, for those for any age, that have endured abuse in any form. I have facilitated hand drumming and art therapy, for children, privately and publicly. I believe that creative expression is the very core of our being and our soul.
